I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

Stiga Advantage has many versions, and many customers consider Stiga Advantage Lite vs Pro. In this article, I will review and compare two tables so that you can choose the right one. The winner in this battle for me is Stiga Advantage Pro.

As the most top-rated indoor table tennis, the winner – Stiga Advantage Pro offers a standard specification required by table tennis tournaments. The 0.75″ inch tabletop provides an excellent bounce like on the professional table; the net and post set is good; the stand and caster wheels are very strong and firm. You absolutely can use this product to train for table tennis tournaments.

For those finding a table for entry-level and recreational play, Stiga Advantage Lite is a great option. It provides features worth the price, such as a good tabletop material and quick assembly.

Stiga Advantage Lite vs Pro: Differences

Stiga Advantage Pro wins 4-0 over Stiga Advantage Lite thanks to its thicker tabletop, better net and post set, sturdier legs, wheels and apron.

Tabletop

The Winner: Stiga Advantage Pro

The quality of the table is proportional to the thickness of the table surface. The thicker the tabletop, the better table.

This assumption is no exception in this battle. The Advantage Pro has a 0.75-inch tabletop which is thicker than the 0.5-inch Advantage Lite’s top. In fact, Advantage Lite offers a pretty good bounce on the ball. However, Advantage Pro provides a far better bounce than Advantage Lite.

0.5-inch thickness can only bring acceptable bounce, and the speed is slower than I expected. It is only fine for recreational purposes or family, friends playing together. It is not good enough to be used for professional play.

In contrast, we can completely use Advantage Pro for both entertainment and professional matches. This table can satisfy even professional players because the ball bounces very well.

I will suggest you buy Pro in any circumstances because rather than bouncing, the thicker tabletop also provides a sturdier, not easy to be damaged table.

Net and Post Set

The Winner: Stiga Advantage Pro

Both tables have clamp-style net and post set. However, there are also differences in the size and the features of their net and post.

Net and post set of Stiga Advantage Pro is much more durable than that of Stiga Advantage Lite
Net and post set of Stiga Advantage Pro is much more durable than that of Stiga Advantage Lite

We can see that the Pro has a bigger post than Lite’s. This leads to the Pro’s post being sturdier, thicker, and firmly attached to the table.

The Lite’s post looks very compact, but also means it is not firm when attached to the table. A strong force will easily make it skewed out of the initial position.

The net can be loosened after having been used for a while. So tension adjustment is a great feature of Advantage Pro. We can fine-tune the tension by adjusting a string on both sides. This feature is absent on the Lite version.

Wheels, Legs and Apron

The Winner: Stiga Advantage Pro

If the undercarriage and the legs of the table are not sturdy and durable, your table may start wobbling after a period of time. Then the Stiga Advantage Pro won again.

The Stiga Pro is manufactured with 1.6″ square steel legs. I believe that the tabletop will be better supported by these legs than 1” legs on the Stiga Advantage Lite.

Also, the steel tube aprons are 1.2” on the Advantage Pro. Besides, It has eight 4″ caster wheels. While the Advantage Lite has 0.75” steel tube apron and eight 2″ caster wheels.

Roll and transport table halves are effortlessly with lockable wheels

To firmness, each one of two table’s wheels can be locked. Once these wheels are locked, you cannot push the tennis table, nor can you move it, unless you pick it up. This makes the tennis table very secure.

Weight

Tie

The weight of A and B respectively is 95.71 kilograms and 63.96 kilograms. However, we cannot tell heavy or lightweight is better in this case because they all have benefits and downsides.

Considering Advantage Lite’s lightweight design, you will not have to exert much effort during the assembly and manoeuvrability of this table. However, lightweight also means that you have to sacrifice the good material, sturdy undercarriage. As I said above, It has only 0.75” apron, 2″ caster wheels and 1” legs.

A heavy table like the Stiga Advantage Pro is sure to provide more excellent durability and sturdiness. A heavier table, however, can be a bit more difficult to move around compared to a lighter table.

In short, which tables win depends on your needs. If you prioritize durability over convenience, the Stiga Advantage Pro is the right choice for you. The Stiga Advantage Lite is the perfect choice for you if you focus on easy assembly and storage.

Worth The Money

The Winner: Stiga Advantage Pro

With a price of about $500, Stiga Advantage Pro can bring a professional experience. The 0.75″ surface thickness is good enough if you want to go professional. What’s more, it is also durable.

About Stiga Advantage Lite, I wouldn’t recommend you go for this one as it’s not much cheaper than the regular model and the bounce on 0.5″ tables is not as good as 0.75″ tables.

Stiga Advantage Lite vs Pro: Similarities

Dimensions

Both tables measure 108 inches long, 60 inches wide, and 30 inches high. This is the official ITTF-approved table dimension.

With this dimension, we can play on table size like in the competition. This will be a great convenience for you if you are practicing for the tournament.

Ease of Assembly

The two Stiga tables can be assembled in 10 minutes because it comes with “Quick Play” system. In fact, the table is 95% pre-assembled on arrival. So it saves you the hassle of setting up the table.

Furthermore, you can set up Stiga Advantage Pro and Advantage Lite with little or no assistance with the detailed manual. As a matter of fact, the setup process requires just three steps: unpack the box, add the wheels to the table, put the net on and play.

Other Utilities

+ Playback mode

The two table halves have independent casters that allow the halves to be entirely separated for convenience and multi-use purposes. This allows you to use it as a personal playback mode, which is helpful in practicing without a partner or warming up before a game.

+ Safety features

This table is notable for having a safety latch system attached to the undercarriage, so the two halves stay connected when they are not in use.

Each half of the table has four wheels, so we can easily roll and transport smoothly and safely. Following that, you can then lock the wheels into place so that they do not move accidentally while they are being stored or when playing between games.
