If you are convinced that Joola is the top-rated tennis table brand, but aren’t sure what to choose from its affordable range, don’t miss this Joola Rally TL 300 Review.
Joola Rally 300 is one of the few tables with an attractive price and decent playability. On top of all, it has ball holders that even the top sellers lack.
Let me reveal what about Joola Rally 300 that makes it unique among 15mm tables.
Joola Rally TL 300 Review: Technical Chart
Joola Rally TL 300 Review: Detailed Analysis
Rally TL 300 has a 15mm tabletop, the standard thickness for a recreational tennis table. It’s also covered by multiple layers of cotton to smooth out the surface and boost the consistency of the bounce.
For entry-level customers, this tabletop’s playability will be the spotlight of the party. That’s why it would be a lovely addition to your living room or office. However, if users are of intermediate or professional level, Rally TL 300 can be a misfit.
Another plus of Rally TL 300’s tabletop is how it’s not as noisy as many other low-budget tables during playing. It could be because the wood chosen for the tabletop is quite sturdy.
Overall, if you target a product purely for recreational purposes, this table won’t let you down.
Weight and Assembly
This table is significantly heavier than some other 15mm tables. This means two things: 1. It is made of sturdier materials 2. Moving and assembling the table would require more effort.
Looking on the bright side, a table with a sturdy design like Rally TL 300 will last longer than many others. For example, its table legs are 1.5 inches in diameter, notably bigger than Stiga Advantage – a well–known name in the tennis table world. I’m not saying that thinner table legs are inadequate; however, as a customer, I see more potential in the one that offers more.
However, choosing Rally TL 300 also means you’re accepting more risk of damaged products before arriving at your house. There are many complaints about how bulky packages tend to be scarred. Some damages can terribly affect your satisfaction with the table, such as bumps on the tabletop.
Assembly is another problem with a heavyweight. It already takes about 20 minutes for a regular table, given that the table is mostly pre-assembled and has simple setup guidelines. With Rally TL 300, you should expect no less than half an hour, not to say the heavyweight would require the work of at least three adults.
No matter how many times I tell myself not to rant about clamp-style nets, I always end up being disappointed and stirring up the topic again and again. Clamp-style design is so common it’s easier to count those who don’t feature them than the other way around. But apart from its hassle-free setup, I really can’t tell a good thing about this model.
Tension adjustment is the biggest failure of clamp-style nets. By the time users figure out how to fit this 72’ net with the table’s width, they will face another challenge: the net will constantly lose its tension. What’s worse, the net will fall out of its place as soon as you apply slight pressure to the table.
Complaints aside, I’m fully aware that the net should not be a priority when choosing a tennis table. Several other benefits can make up for it.
If I have to name one feature that genuinely highlights Rally TL 300, it would be these ball holders. They replace the usual table corner and store three 40mm TT balls.
This amusing detail will save you some good money as you no longer need to buy storage pouches. Also, something really eye-catching about these ball holders convinces me that the table will be a sleek touch to one’s office or living room.
Indeed, minor features like this could be the decisive point in making a purchase decision, especially when customers are puzzled among numerous identical products.
Although I appreciate additional details that make a product stand out from the basic designs, I’m not a fan of this abacus scoreboard.
It appeared to be promising at first as I imagined how it could save me from forgetting the score over and over again.
However, when I finally got to use the table, I found out that this scorer was not so well-made. Its steel/aluminum glide was attached poorly to the table and fell off easily. So contrary to the Joola advertisement, I didn’t think the scoreboard was an advance from the basic design.
Safety latch system and Playback mode
If heavy objects like tennis tables are flimsy, it would be a nightmare for both you and the surrounding furniture. Fortunately, Joola equips Rally TL 300 with the safety latch system to keep the table still during use and storage.
Another goal of this device is to enable the solo-player mode. This application allows beginners to sharpen their skills even without others’ help.
Honestly, 3-inch caster wheels are not impressive, especially for a reasonably heavy table like Rally TL 300. However, as an indoor table mostly used indoors, Rally TL 300 and its 3-inch caster wheels won’t cause any trouble.
Some indoor tables are available for outdoor use sometimes when the weather and humidity outside are favorable. However, Rally TL 300 doesn’t stand on this list. 3-inch wheels can’t roll smoothly on uneven surfaces, and if you insist on doing so, you risk damaging your table badly.
